GOOGLE LOGGED THAT TOO

Every Click. Every “Okay.” Every Search. Time to Claw It Back.

You clicked “Accept.” You didn’t read it.
Nobody does.

But they did. Google.

And they logged it.

That location ping when you stopped for gas? Logged.
That voice search you muttered half awake? Logged.
That “private” incognito tab? Logged.
That “accidental” click on something personal? Logged.

You don’t need to be logged into Gmail.
You don’t need to own an Android phone.
You just need to exist with a browser and Google is watching.

THIS ISN’T A SEARCH ENGINE. IT’S SURVEILLANCE INFRASTRUCTURE.

Google isn’t a helpful librarian. It’s a data extraction empire.

Search isn’t free. Gmail isn’t free. Chrome sure as hell isn’t free.
You’re the product. Worse, your behavior is the product.

  • What you search
  • When you search it
  • What you skip
  • What you click
  • How long you linger

They don’t just log your answers. They log your questions.

Think about that.

They know when you’re scared.
They know when you’re desperate.
They know when you’re lonely.

This isn’t paranoia. It’s documented.
Go look at your Google Takeout data if you can stomach it. 10,000+ entries deep and that’s just one slice.

CHECKLIST: CLAW BACK WHAT’S YOURS

1. DELETE WHAT THEY’VE STORED

Go to https://myactivity.google.com

You’ll find:

  • Web & App Activity
  • Location History
  • YouTube Search History
  • Assistant Queries
  • Device Info

Click “Manage” on each. Delete it all.
Then disable future collection. But don’t get comfortable, it resets sometimes. Check it monthly.

2. KILL LOCATION TRACKING

Your phone is a snitch.

Even if “Location History” is off, Google can still track you via:

  • Wi-Fi networks
  • Bluetooth signals
  • Cell towers
  • App permissions

Turn off location at the system level.
Revoke location access from apps you don’t trust.
Better: get a de-Googled Android (GrapheneOS).

Or go old school. Flip phone. No GPS. No sync. No “convenience.”

3. DROP CHROME. IMMEDIATELY.

Chrome is spyware with a slick UI.
It tracks keystrokes, autofill, cookies, tab activity, and more.

Switch to Firefox (with privacy hardening), LibreWolf, or Fennec (on mobile).
Install uBlock Origin. Disable telemetry. Strip it down.

If you’re using Chrome “because it’s easy,” ask yourself: easy for who?

4. DUMP GMAIL AND GOOGLE DRIVE

Every email scanned. Every attachment indexed. Every file fingerprinted.

They say it’s for “security” and “ad personalization.”
We say it’s for profiling, surveillance, and control.

Use ProtonMail, Tuta, or Mailfence.
Store your files in Cryptomator or a offline encrypted drives like veracrypt.
Don’t give them your writing, your resumes, your photos.

5. GO NUCLEAR ON YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT

You want out? Really out?

  • Delete your Google Account.
  • Delete your recovery email.
  • Delete your backup numbers.
  • Scrub mentions of yourself across connected services.

It’s messy. You’ll lose access to purchases. Some accounts may break.

But maybe that’s the point.

FINAL THOUGHT

Google’s grip isn’t technical. It’s psychological.
They made it normal to give away everything because it was easy.

But you don’t owe them your memories.
You don’t owe them your relationships.
You don’t owe them your thoughts.
